Mudflaps for Altea XL

Picking up my new Altea XL today but was wondering, has anyone fitted mudflaps to theirs? If so, how much and how do they look?

I feel that sometimes mudflaps look great on a car and finish it off nicely, othertimes they just look like they spoil the smooth lines!

Any thoughts?

Hi guys,

same partnos as with the "short" Altea ...

... and the price in one of the abroad online-shops (i.e. JanKok / Netherlands) is listed as

Spatlappen achter [5P0075101] ... 43,57 Euro (=mudflaps rear)
Spatlappen voor [5P0075111] ... 40,50 Euro (=mudflaps front)

... at least a little orientation, I hope.

Greets ... Klaus

Another thing I just became aware of:
Those mudflaps are listed in the VW-catalog as 1K0075101/1K0075111 for approx 31 Euros (net.) each pair ... but I can't guarantee that both will fit likewise ... but lot's of similar parts do, so why not those flaps.

The Seat accessories guide shows the mudflaps but I am at work just now and don't have the brochure. If memory serves me right its something like £30 for front and £40 for rears.

When I picked up my car yesterday there wasn't , literally, a single Seat on the forecourt that had mudflaps on so I wasn't able to really compare looks.

Looking at the internals of the wheelarch there is not much of a "lip" to secure the flaps onto so I am guessing that means that it would be special fixings required.

However, my gut impression just now is that adding mudflaps to the back of the Altea XL will make it look even "bulkier" than it does look just now.

Thoughts?

(And £70 is a helluva lot of money for flaps in my opinion!)

They are £60 for a set of 4.

If they are the same as the arosa fittment, i think they are similar, all you need to do is remove two screws that hold in the arch liner put the mudflaps on and then put the screws back in.

So dont think you get any type of fixings with the mudflaps, they use the original screws and holes.

Imo they make the altea hatch look much better, they finish off the car nicely imo, but then i think most cars look better with mudflaps.

I dont think ive seen an XL with them on, but they would look smart im sure, also helps stop stone chips too.

Edit: post up some picks of your XL when you get it, i dont think ive seen many Alteas in the pictures topic and no Xls.
