hi i have a v5 toledo 1999 and am only getting 23mgp averaged arround town does this sound right ? whats every one getting ?

That figure is pretty much spot on what the official urban figure for the car should be. I've been getting about 20-24 mpg around town the past week depending on how bad traffic was in my v5 170.

I seem to be managing between 30 and 32, but I do more motorway than town. Having said that I am having a bit of fun occasionally, so I daresay I could get a bit more once the initial excitement has worn off...

...if it ever does!

I have been told cruise control is not very fuel efficient, but I've been using it for most journeys. Even trundling along at 30 in fifth I flick it on, and its perfectly happy. Its the first car I've owned that will actually accelerate in fifth from 30!!

I average 27-29mpg with some motorway runs in the mix, but mostly town type/twisty road driving.

Mine's an EARLY 1999 V5 150 by the way.

i now get 27.3mpg with shell petrol just the normal one

Seems to be variable with mine. Anything between 25-35mpg, but I have got an auto box, so it will be a little thirstier. 30-ish seems to be the average though.

I get 29.5 on normal city runs and 48ish on motorway from my 97 Toledo Sports (2.0L)

27 sounds about a spot on average, although recently have learnt to lighten my right foot a bit and have been getting 34 which im more then happy with!

brochure says 21.8 urban mog iirc. I do mainly town driving and mine has hit that figure on the nose more than once, mostly it'll be high 23's most i've ever had was 29 ish on a motorway cruise but it wasnt exactly going at the limit......

I'm feeling well chuffed after getting a personal best 40.7 mpg average on a 200 mile drive at not inconsiderable speeds (average of 54 mph) along the twisty scottish higlands in my V5. Conserving momentum (ie. not touching the brakes and keeping cornering speeds up) was to thank for that.

Around town I get 26-27 mpg and keeping to 70 on the motorway sees me get an easy 37-38 mpg running on optimax in my V5 170. This is much better than I used to get on ordinary unleaded.

I have a 99 V5 with 140k on it. I get about 32 average driving, but when I've been staying in town with the occasional drive out, 20 - 25 is about right. The worst I have got is 19 when living in a town where you're lucky if you can get into 3rd!

i'm getting 23.2 average to the gallon with me missus driving it mostly around town
