MP3 socket in MK4

Hey All

I'm still contemplating buying a brand new MK4.

Does anyone know how that mp3 socket works?

Is there just a cable between the socket and rear of the stereo which splits to 2 x phono at the other end?

I want to replace the standard unit with a DAB radio and use the socket to plug my iPod into.

Hi mate, on mine, it's a socket under a flap next to handbrake. My mate give me a £5 lead that plugs into the socket and any mp3 player headphone jack (the lead is just jack cable, the same both ends

Dont know if any others are different, but mines 07 spec FR, FYI

Ok, I wanted to know where the jack was wired into on the rear of the stereo?
