MP3 crisis

Had my 2.0tdi sport dsg for 10 months now and cannot go on skipping around my sons awkward questions about how the MP3 player is. Not really sure what it is, nothing in the book to tell me about how to use it. Any clues?

OK with the other techy stuff like keys, heater, seats, steering wheel etc......

Also....found my mobile loading the address book on to the dash one day and managed to fathom this out. How does it update the address book again on the car though when you make changes to the phone/SIM card memory?

Thanks...

Well assuming it's got an MP3 player then it shouldn't be that difficult as long as you write them onto CD !. Mine is the older headend so no MP3 player but it should be straight forward - indeed. You probably need to get some compression software, I use Xilisoft CD Ripper and there is a DVD ripper as well that converts sound tracks to MP3, handy for music DVDs. I choose 192 sample rate, none of this cheapo crap rates that you get on DAB.

I bought a little multi purpose device for taking on holiday to use in hire cars where you are never sure whether the hire car has got a cassette deck or CD playor and either way you don't fancy lugging crates of cassette and CDs half way around the world. It plays MP3 files from SD cards, USB or plug in aux port for IPods and little MP3 playors. I slip in SD cards from my PDA. Then it broadcasts them on FM. Stick it in your pocket when you get out of the car. VRFM9 is the Google. I wander off topic but a useful device just the same in this para.

Thanks cmd and tell. Cannot find any reference in my manuals to the mp3 or the bluetooth though.

Would appreciate any help also with the bluetooth.

Are you sure it is an MP3 head unit? It should have a small MP3 logo on the front of the unit close to the CD slot. The MP3 head units only started being installed with the 2007 build year models beginning in May 20006.

My manual clearly shows on the front radio MP3 unit. Details of the operation and how MP3 CD's are laid out are shown on page 41 of the current manual.
