Moving front bumper slats on Pre facelift Cupra?

HI all

soon to have my Forge FMIC fitted.....

Now I had a Forge FMIC on my Ibiza Cupra, with the mesh removed, as it was more in your face, but I think the Ibiza suits this type of look better (more agrresive styling/rally slaggish look)

However I think the Leon is somewhat different, more laid back and classy perhaps...so would removing the centre front slats and showing off the Forge FMIC suit the Leon? as in, does the leon suit the "in your face" type look?

or should I go more of a street sleeper style?

Would you just take the slats out and leave it open? I'm not sure that would look good, it'd look like it was missing something IMHO. I toyed with the idea of taking the slats out and putting some racing mesh in its place, but decided that would be a bit chavvy, there's too many 'pimped' mk1 Focuses driving around like that! :p

lol he he

well the empty space would be filled with a Forge FMIC across it, with the word "Forge" sprayed in Blue across it...but may look too aggressive for a Leon

however it is going to be lowered, with the LCR front splitter and some nice 18's...so think it might get away with it then?

the more I think about it, the more I want the slats removed I think

I'm assuming the FMIC is sat some way behind the front of the bumper, I'd just be concerned that it could look like your grille's just fallen out!!

Oooh wait here's good idea - maybe just remove some of the slats? Like every other one? That would be a really subtle change, and would make the FMIC more visible too...

hmm yeah, thats a good idea, see what it looks like when the bumper is back on, difficult to tell really till its all on

An LCR bumper would look good, but its expensive... and then you'll have to get the back one... and the side skirts...

That one's just a standard LC bumper though, wouldn't show off the FMIC any more than the pre-facelift one would (possibly even less??)

then I have to spray it, fit it.....erm, maybe not as its alot of trouble..cheers anyhow;)

Leave the slats in... don't chav up a nice looking car :) It's very easy to cross that line from respectable, modified car to chavvy boy racer.

Good call, will go for the more subtle look then:clap:

Subtle is good. The Leon is a good looking car and is subtle, yet stylish, in design. Removing grills in favour of large shiny things is going to spoil that, IMO :)

I'm not sure i'd want it in the line of fire of road debris, would rather there was a decent fineish mesh fitted behind the stock slats and in front of the FMIC! Can't imagine passing a gritter at any speed would be good for it.
