mot failure!!!

my car failed the emissions test on the CO2 readings whats wrong with it???

MAF, Lambda or Cat i can imagine mate or pretty much anything fuel related lol

A leak could make it over fuel which would make emissions higher

well it was blowing between the join from cat to cat back had it fixed today for a couple of quid so lets hope it passes next week, they also failed me for not having water in my washer bottle which i thought was abit tight lol

Erm... At least you know it's a good MOT test then! I always feel re-assured after a clear pass!

Yeah, if you have a blow in your exhaust they will fail it, not on the actual emissions but because of the blow!

had the blow fixed yesterday and the car feels so much better it actually feels faster, hopefully this fixes the emissions test and this was creating problems with my mixture also!!

water in washer bottles a legal driving requirement as have to check washer work too so fail,

Same as if a tester wishes to play by the book he can fail it on dangly air freshners on the rear view mirror as it obstructs the drivers view, lol you would be very surprised on what little things cars can fail on and then be shocked on what major things can only be put down as advisories.

went for the retest again and it failed on CO2 emissions again what is the problem here exhaust is sealed know i cant get my head round it!!

is it running rich could be causing problem

Log the MAF and Lambdas mate

got a 200 cell sports cat but had this on last year no problems, it was run up to temp aswell!!

logged the maf at 222 at 6500 revs and lambdas where reading -1.5% and 2.5% does this sound ok?

Overfuelling in your new map for gtrs maybe.

i would of though that as wasent the AFR about 15 low down so be overfuelling?

If emissions are too high then it has to be too much fuel or the cat not taking enough emissions out. If its too low then its not enough fuel.

its to high its up and down like a yo yo on the sniff check was at 0.8 and needs to be 0.3!!! does come down for abit then back up will not stay below 0.3 as it is an average!!

Is that close? Rag the car before hand or find someone to pass it.

Have you got a bigger air filter on there yet? More cleaner air would make it burn better so should bring it down a bit
