Hi All

I'm really new to all this but have decided this must be the best place to get some help and advice.

I have a Seat Leon FR Diesel 1.9Turbo MK1 with the cupra kit on.

I want to do a few upgrades on it like: -

Chipping - Whats the best kit out there? Have been Reading up on a few but didnt know which was best.

Tyres - I bought it with **** tyres on what's the best, I've heard P Zero's or Bridgestones but still unsure as i do a lot of mileage and dont really want to be replace them every 6months lol.

Clutch - If i tune up to say 180BHP & 400 tourqe will the standard clutch handle it

Brakes - Again same question as the clutch really.

Any thing else you can suggest will be greatly appreciated its the 1st proper nice car i've had, but i feel there is more to come from the beast under the bonnet. Plus with more power it'll have a wolf in sheeps clothing vibe about it lol.

Thanks for reading my ramble

The mk1 FR was the 130hp PD 1.9tdi wasnt it ?

Every remap i have seen on that engine has produced 180hp or there abouts, i'm not sure on the torque figures but places like AMD, JBS, Revo, Jabba etc will have plenty of options for you. If you go for a custom rolling road remap rather than an "off the shelf" type you can usually get the sort of delivery etc that you want.

I'd recommend upgrading the brakes on any car that you are increasing the power of. Even if its just a set of decent pads for the time being.

The company you choose should be able to tell you whether the clutch will handle the increases in hp and torque, usually a stage 1 remap as above will be fine.

Goodyear F1's and Toyo T1's were always good tyres but i havent had to buy tyres for my own car for some time, these are ideas based on what i used to run.

Hi Nige

Thank you for your reply on my post.

I have found a company in Leeds RS Tuning that offer a pre dyno, tune and post dyno so i can see what gains i have made.

I plan to beef up the brakes and power (clutch if needed) at the same time but new boots are a must after this weekend in the Lakes, I found the Falkens I have on to be nothing short of useless in the wet. Having run Toyo T1R's on my Hyundai Coupe F2 i think i'm going to go with them as they are good in wet or dry conditions.

Mines the 150hp Mk1 its an FR it was the Sport which ran at 130hp.

Again thank you for help

Josh
