How far have people actually gone with modifications whilst they still have their seat warranty???

I have something sitting in my office that I am not sure if I should fit right now or not

have u had to take the car back for anything though?

TBH, No, like i say its a gamble, I even have my servicing done at an independent garage.

Also, now, i probably wouldnt take it back, as due to the mods that i have done, i wouldnt have any warranty for the associated parts

Waited till my 3 years expired then hit the mods big time [B)]

I didn't want the hassle of anything major going wrong and the ensuing argument with my dealer

They did however give me a nudge and a wink that a remap would be ok so long as we didn't ever have that conversation...

I always thought an exhaust is a 'consumable' part and not covered under warranty anyway?
I dont worry about it, if it blows up (unlikely) it's just another excuse for a BT :funk:
You can always take stuff off for warranty work if the worst happens you know ;)

i have had my turbo nearly fall of with revo on the car and the dealers even know its revo'd but did the work anyway! i even asked why it has nearly fallen off they siad prob because its been chipped lol, unless they can prove it is due to the mod they should repair it no probs but prob does help if you know the people at the dealers!

can be replaced if its a componet faliure like the baffels going but doubt it will affect anything else like engine having the exhaust fitted!

I agree changing the exhaust will be naff all change to the warranty (apart from that on the exhaust obviously!) but cant really comment on the mystery item.

Is it a nos kit? :cheeky:

Technically the warranty will only be invalidated on the part that you've changed, but it could be argued that it'll also be on the associated parts, so say you remap your car and the gearbox breaks it could be said that it's down to the additional stress that your changes have put on the car.

My Ibiza had a few mods and the local dealer didn't say anything when it went in for various things, so it depends on how "mod friendly" they are. Speaking from experience though Miller and Middleton in Colchester seem to be ok as both mine and cpufreak's old cars went there while they were in various states of non-standardness.
