Ok I need some advise :D

I was going to sell my TDi and buy the Cupra TDi but it looks like it's going to be my car and 5K to change :-o

Do you think the 130 with all the bits:

FMIC(Forge) + Fitting + FMIC (Forge) MAP £900

312 Stoppers £320 Fitted (These are a must as standard brakes are poor)

Clutch £700 Will I need it?

Full Milltek With Race Cat £600 Fitted (Jabba Said Downpipe Is A Wast Of £'s  )

Just over £2,500  but should see 190-200 bhp and 300 Lbs/Ft

I know I will never get any money back from the mods but it's £2,500 cheaper than the Cupra TDi and the insurance with mods declared is still lower :)

Any opinions?

IMO, the clutch will be needed,

What about wheels, suspension, Cupra bumpers, Cupra interior????

Not to fussy on the wheels as outside the car will still look standard ;)

Yes the suspension will need doing so that's another £500

My car has a full body kit anyway so not bothered about changing the bumbers :)

I just can't decide if it's worth spending £3K to do it

yeah keep yours and

do the brakes - £225
Get it remapped - £500
Do the front mount ( before remap)

And you should be good for as you said 190 bhp and 300 lb ft torque.

That should be suffice, if you are want to go further, my advise would be not too, i think anymore and you should sreiously look at a petrol as the money woul dbe better spent tuning a petrol engine. I perosnally think a remap and fmic is enough and the FMIC is just for a reliability issue and to ease the presure on the car.

Anymore and it gets silly, with bigger turbo's injectors, propane injection blah blah blah blah Bleeeehhh!!! and this is big big money and IMHO a waste.

so i say just spend £1500 and it will be a well sorted car, i mean the looks are done so just give it a little more pep to match the looks.

Clutchs should be uprated depending on your driving style, i thought the standard ones could cope easily with up to 300 lb ft as long as you were altering the way you drove.

IE no silly high rev dump clutch scenarios and not booting it in too high a gear.

Dunno, ask the TDi regulars

My clutch is slipping and its just got a remap, and filter on it on it, iv altered my driving style but the clutch will still slip at times, i think most of its due to the cold weather,

The other week when it was around 10 degrees it was fine but when its below that it slips easily,

WTF is on with exhausts????

T-H-E-Y' R-E U-S-E-L-E-S-S O-N T-D-I'S!!!!!!

put a damn straight pipe instead of downpipe and cat [and yes, downpipe would be good] and if you want instead of backbox too and keep the money for the clutch,,,

I mean on tdiclub they know what they're doing and the number of them with mufflerectomy compared to the ones with full system is silly,,,
exhaust kit on a tdi is a ripoff imho,,,

Dont pay to get the intercooler fitted, do it yourself as its a piece of urine. Do the exhaust but think about having a de-cat instead of a race cat as i wish i had done that as its much cheaper, then get the remap done.If you do decide to stay with the 130, but decide that 190 bhp isnt enough then go and have a speak to Allards for a turbo, you'll see 230 bhp easy. Or if you dont then mayi suggest fo more grip, a quaife atb diff, for £1200 all in fitted at jbs its one mod that should be a priority if you want to get your power down. The clutch is also a must i would say as it shouldnt take long to get your clutch to start slipping if you drive it hard. You should also lok at suspension as the standard stuff is ok if your happy wi th it but if your gonna drive hard then an upgrade would be advisable.
Their you go, thats my 2 penneth.

now I want a reason to buy £500 for an exhaust,,, [p.s. I'd like to remember you we're talkin tdi here spaniels!! :p ]
Look at my sigi, it says'' 06 spec seat ibiza fr TDi That means diesel ;) And why would you want a reason for £500? wouldnt you want a reason to pay £500 for an exhaust?
Ok here is a few.
1. Nicer sound at idel,
2. Nicer sound up the revs
3.Improved throttle responce,
4.Pulls easier and quicker throughout the rev range.
Is that ok;)

mmmm,,, let's see, a straight pipe does give ya:
1. Improved throttle responce
2. Pulls easier and quicker throughout the rev range.
3. Nicer sound at idel
4. Nicer sound up the revs

Is that ok for less than 50 bucks??

The only real reason to go for an aftermarket exhaust would be backpressure,,, and that's really one BIG reason,,, BUT, there's a BUT which is the fact here we're talking TURBO diesel, which means back pressure is given by the turbo itself, being it the restriction after the headers,,,

don't feck about with decats as you need em, a few people have been done for not having their cats fitted up southend.

You see the police read these sites and know what to look out for when they pull you. the police up southend go around with Vehicle inspectorates and the emissions is one thing they check\on old and new cars

so unless you want hassle keep it on

diesels don't get tested for emissions, only opacity/smoke level,,,
plus if you do unweld and reweld the emptied cat along its seams it will be quite difficult to be evident that you've opened it up unless you jack the car up,,, [B)]

I got pulled by the police (VOSA i think thats what they are called) into the weighbridge on the way to work once and they tested my car for emissions the day after i had my cat back fitted, im glad i didnt have a decat fitted aswell and its also a good job i gave it a good blasting out before that and got rid of all the soot.
