In the process of changing my front speakers atm.. thing is, the new tweeters are too deep for the standard tweeter spot.

Any ideas what i can do to mount them? Ive already cut thru the grill hoping to make extra space but im about 5mm short. Ive enlarged the hole where the original tweeter was too, so if i dont mount them there, ill have to buy new triangle pieces and grills.

I could cut the new tweeter enclosure down a bit as the actual tweeter only takes up 2/3rds of the enclosure, but should i want to change my speakers again in the future (very unlikely) theyll be very difficult to sell.

could you do something with a thicks/small mdf ring, almost like a cylinder, mounted in the triangles?

possibly, but if i have any more spacers between tweeter and grill, its gonna stick out like a sore thumb :(

i could cut into the metal behind the triangle by the mirror bolt cos noones ever gonna see that even when i come to sell the car but tahts just going to extremes really.. im pretty stuck for ideas really, had the speakers since monday and ive not even managed to fit a tweeter! :ban:
