Hi Guys who have one of these!

Need a few question answering...

How much does a tank of Diesel Cost ya to fill from empty...

How many miles do you get out of that tank doing some town driving and some A roads occasional motorway driving??

Cheers

Mine was closer to 40...37 odd and also depends on what kind of driving you do. Town driven averages about 46-47 motorway 60-70. If you was doing motorway cummuting you'd get very good shout out of it!

What is involved with ''venting'' the fuel tank?

You release the air in the tank and you can get more fuel in. I think thats right.

Basically, the tank is made to fill up so much, and then leave a bit of space for the gases and stuff to expand in hot weather. If you vent it, you get rid of this air space so you can fill the tank to the very top. You shouldn't do this if you're gonna leave the car to sit because there is no room for the gases to expand. But it's ideal if you are doing long distance.

I can do 250 miles on £15. that was before remap...

Well I picked up my TDi FR yesterday and I have to say I under-rated these cars but now I'm eating my hat, it great. Totally different to my Clio 182 Trophy but still fun all the same.

Can anyone answer the following:

1 Thinking of a remap, the car has done 50,000miles, is the mileage a problem?

2 I don't want to be replacing the clutch all the time so can the boost be turned down to preserve this?

3 Should I replace the Cam belt before the remap or will it be fine until the 60k mark?

4 Does having a remap enhance the black smoke effect?

5 And finally....what remap do you recommend? Will probably be star in Scotland that I go to!

Cheers and sorry to hi-jack this thread.

1/2) I have seen plenty of cars with big turbo's with alot higher milage than that so would think you would be fine but if you go to someone like jabbasport they will have a full look over the car before you get it mapped to make sure its good for a re-map also they can limit the torque which in turn will preserve the clutch better.

3) soz can't help on that one. i have no experience.

4) yes it prob will smoke a bit more but if you have the standard fr exhaust it sticks out a bit and is slashed to help push the smoke down so should be to much of a problem and again if you go for a custom map they can limit the black smoke and still get a performance gain from it.

5) as above i 100% recommend jabbasport they are nice guys and their work is great i dont have 1 bad word to say about them and i go there once every few weeks lol

good luck mate, the re-map is well worth it should get you near the bhp of the 182 well should get about 175mark should be more torque than a 182 anyway i had a go with one when i was running 176bhp and the only place he could beat me was round roundabouts because those things handle like mad lol
