I was driving last night and accelerating in 3rd, reached about 3500 rpm and suddenly a loss of power. The car was completely dead the whole way home. (felt as if no turbo).

Stopped the engine and restarted it, just before home and it was fine again.

Any suggestions as to what it could be? (I have another slight prob in the thread " Anyone else get any wee jerks in power after remap?" could there be any relationship? I can't post links until 15 posts, otherwise i'd have pasted in the url)

how long have you had the remap mate, sounds like limp mode to me. Iv had my car remapped although its only pd100 and mine does what your explaining, i was told it was a safety precaution something to do with not overloading the turbo, not exactly sure. search for limp mode and see what comes up i'm sure its been talked about before. hope thats helps a bit mate.

Yeah its limp mode. My Cupra TDi used to do it when I had a split boost pipe. Got it sorted and its never happened since. Think the ECU senses the leak and goes into limp mode.
