MK4 1.9TDI FR Hard to put in to gear.

Car doesn't like going in to gear when you first engage the clutch, however once depressed is fine.

Hi, I have a 1.9TDI FR 52 plate, the clutch and gearbox were solid, however now when I depress the clutch and select any gear I have to push it that little bit harder to get it to engage, however if I keep the clutch in I can change gear just fine, I have no idea what could be causing it. No slip, shake, or judder.

Yes, with the engine off they are fine, it's when the engine is running the initial selected gear just needs to be pushed slightly harder than normal.
Just to add if I keep the clutch in they all change fine, and it isn't one particular gear that's the issue, they are all difficult to select when you first engage the clutch.
