Same tip! The engines are barely different! Different code on the ecu and I think the very early s3 engines (ayp) had stronger rods or pins, or something like that. I don’t know of any other differences.

Just found this thread HoocH, must say very, very impressed, nice to see such an effort put into doing something different, I have no doubts that the result will be excellent, and my only dissapointment is that I wont be able to make the SCN meet to see this puppy. Also the new show wheels must be very nice if they're better than those split BBS's

blimey mate! i remember picking up the exhaust with chris when you first picked the estate up (and you have the crashed cupra R in your garden),has come a long way since then. the car is looking lovely and cant wait to see the finished product!

just bought a mk3 cordoba vario. even tho i nearly finished the current one, it worked out that i bought the mk3 for less than what i could by the parts needed for!

so wait hooch, you mean you're taking everything off the other one including engine etc and putting it on the red one you just bought?

the plan is that it should be done pretty quick as i now know what im doing and i have all of the parts. BUT i said it would only take a few weeks to transfer from cupra R to vario.
im going to plough it out to get it done. may even leave bodywork brakes wheels etc etc for a few weeks. just so i can get it running.
will post a pic of the new one now

just read through this well partly through it and looked at the pictures nice project you have there looking forward to seeing it when its finished.
it was up for £200 so i offered him £360 if he throws in the "child on board" sign. to my suprise he accepted. was well chuffed
