I'm looking to fit a alpine headunit to my ibiza cupra soon underneath the steering I know a few people have done this was seeing if anyone could give me any usefull tips on fitting.

Also would I need to adapt any of the wires as I've seen lots of adaptors for the iso plug and the aireal lead or or is a matter of relocating and pluging in.

soon as i can upload the pics from my phone i'll show what i done..

done mine yesterday and was easy todo..

i ran a serperate power lead with inline fuse from the battery to under the dash.

got a female iso to plug into the speakers from the original headunit and extended the wires to reach under the steering wheel and joined this into a male iso using the iso with the wires already cut. (5.99)

The aerial will reach with no problems.. everything was cable tied to make the loom simple and all together.

as for mounting the stereo you need to cut alot off the back of the panel and split it a cm down the corners for it to wedge it..

also you will have to cut off the other half of it which is seperate and forms parts of the guard for the steering wheel rack.

be carful when fitting the whole thing back cos there is a switch on the clutch pedal and it can get in the way.

oh forgot to say when i was fitting my amp today the surround for the stereo fell off, this i had to cut a little and made it look more complete...

i like how the stereo blends in with the rest of the dash all lite in red,, not my stereo mind as my alpine i sold in the last car :(

you prob could use the iso for the power and again do what i done to extend the speaker wires how ever at the time i didnt know this could of been the case and im still not sure so i just hardwired my stereo...
