MK3 Cupra Calipers

Hello,

After driving my car with a sticky caliper for 2 months its now time to replace the front pads, discs and calipers

I can purchase the pads and discs at a discount price through SERCS however they said that the calipers are not listed ? Can anyone help me out with part number or where I can purchase them at a decent price ?

You could try Euro Car Parts mate...... Same Calipers as the G60 so shouldn't be that hard for them to find at SERCS...

Go to badger 5's section, you may aswell upgrade the discs and pads while you at it...cash permitting of course

Cheers mate... SERCS is who my dad uses through his work. They mainly deal in truck parts thats probably why they cant get them on there listings...

so you're buying new callipers as well? Just because the calliper stuck? can't you push the piston (or whatever thats called) all the way out and lube it up with bearing grease or something?

Like i said when you was round mate you should be able to get a rebuild kit from the dealership or the likes and just get the caliper rebuilt.


Hows the car going those lights stayed out?

I am not really understanding what the problem is with the calliper?

But question I have, is what kind of lube to use on the calliper piston? Mine is slightly dry...

One or more of the pistons arent retracting keeping the pressure on the pad causing the brakes to stick.

I think thats correct.

sorry to hogg thread but have a question:
On the callipers (front and rear) if you take off padds and discs and brake, the piston will come out.
Does that need to be lubed, the part inside the calliper?
If it does, then what are they lubed with?

the piston was fairly stuck and was realy hard to push back in and for the price of calipers i just bought some new ones as i couldn't do with the hassle of rebuilding them,

I was thinking I might aswelll get some new calipers... tried lubricating it and it work for about a day before it started sticking again.

I went on Euro Car Parts and searched by typing in my car make and model etc. and it said they dont have the parts listed... you got a part number for the front calipers ?

Just get one from them, I ordered some disks and pads at about 3pm, had email about 15mins later saying that they were ready to be collected by the courior,had them the next day at about 2pm

I know old thread but can any one recommend where i can some rear calipers for my cupra? or get myold ones rebuilt?
