Just had a read and I knew the MK3 Cupra 280 would be well up in their top 100 !

It came 4th which is brilliant when you think that the Vauxhall Astra vxr came 81st (!) and others well down .

2 X Porsche in top 5 but obviously a lot more ££££'s . Porsche Carrera 911 won it .

Fiesta st 6th and Renault Megane Trophy R (stripped out version ) 7th !

So again well done SEAT when credit is due .
==============================

Even Audi S3 (20th) ! thereabouts ...and RS3 a bit closer .

You really dont like the Cupra doing well on AE do you

haha, sure i love the fact Seat is doing well with the Cupra. That wasn't my point.

My point is that its a little annoying that people keep buying in to this clear marketing scheme. AE have clearly got more than a bit of fanboi'ism over the Leon.

If it was a valid/respected source then it would be fine. But whats the point in keep linking to AE when they're blatantly only spaffing their pants over the car every chance they get because they are being paid to.

I know people who work in the trade magazine industry and it happens in all markets, i work in IT and the number of "paid to publish an article" and "awards" and other such things out there is, frankly, depressing. It makes it much much harder to find a valid non-biased review/article on it. I hear it is worse in the automotive industry.

Fair enough...But no reason to pish on everyone else parade who are happy reading AE on the praise to the Cupra which it rightly deserves.

from reading what you wrote after "fair enough", its clear that you're not entirely sure on what "fair enough" actually means.

I'm hardly pissing on anyones parade. I don't think Colsy is going to be crying in a corner somewhere just because I pointed out that we've seen dozens of AE articles been posted on here before and that they're hardly worth a grain of salt. He didn't write it nor is it going to affect his life in any way.
No need for the hyperbole.

I think they mean hatchback ,sorry if I've mislead ,I didn't notice the estate bit .I'm so use to seeing it and not just in this Magazine . Although it could be the case about FIFA type activities ;) If that's the case then Ford and Renault are at it also. The fiesta st and Renault megane are normally in top 10.

(Just read it again ,and they just refer the fact that now there is an estate version ,but it's the hatchback there on about ).

That article clearly says

"The Mercedes AMG C63 Estate roars its way into second place, with the Audi TTS coming up in third, the SEAT Leon Cupra 280 ST in fourth and the 911's smaller sibling, the Cayman GTS, coming in fifth place."

If you click

It's a link to the Cupra sport tourer review. It's probably 4th in its fast fun car list because of its ring time.

You are right, this latest Fun 100 is on the Cupra 280 ST, as the last 100 test was on the Cupra 280 SC (Sep 2014) and it came 3rd in that one against the ST 's 4th in this latest.

The civic maybe fast but it looks a horrible car. Its ugly, garish and seems very uncomfortable. I made the right choice with my cupra st. Its a fast grown up car and thats what I signed up for.
