Not been happy with the rear wiper since I got the car. I preferred the Touran wiper I put on my Mk1 Leon FR......so after some PM's to Seremotors I had the part numbers for the change. :D

After

Not a big change.....but I prefer it.

PM Seremotors for prices but it wasn't expensive. ;)

It was easy to do but getting the old wiper arm took a wee bit of pulling and twisting. I can do it for you if you get one?

Mike, what did you use to bung the hole?

Fish

A glass bung tinted black. can be bought from Venom Motorsport for about £20
Tint matches the edge of the leons window and it comes with some black mastic
(very messy advise you have some white spirits to hand) It took me some time to get
a smooth effect with th mastic when 'gluing' the bung in as mastik is so thick and 'gloopy'

IIRC - I was looking around a face lifted Leon the other week in the dealers, and that too had this windscreen wiper (or it might have been the new Ibiza - cannot remember!)

I get that response haha, ussually just answer with "it doesnt make me go any faster" lol

Must admit, on the Ibiza, the rear tailgate was well known for getting plastered alot quicker than the rear of the car during bad weather (due to the profile).

However, the Leon Mk2 tailgate doesn't suffer this, therefore removing the rear wiper for a sleek look makes more sense, as the wiper is less important.

Mike, your Leon looks great with no wiper on the rear, also from your info sounds like you carried out a permanent fix to also seal the hole in the window - nicely done. :)

Same wiper as used on the mk5 golf, which I fitted on my mk4 Golf back in 05, then again, I would expect this to be quite a new thing up your way, arent you just starting to wear flairs & listern to Disco :cartman:

:lol:...cheeky fecker. Not seen any on the pre-facelift Mk2 Leon yet though. ;)

Yeah its prob the same setup. Think the only difference between alot of these wipers is the cap. I tried a polo cap and a touran cap on my last leon as only one of them fitted.

I am in Cumbria but the items were borrowed in a Supermarket in Manchester. How much to replace it? Are you keeping your old one?

You would prob be cheaper just getting the newer style one from Seremotors. I'll prob just keep my old one for a spare. Its not worth much by the time its posted.

Just done this to my Leon. Came to £27 at leicester VW (always find them cheaper than leics seat or leics skoda!?).

Only slightly tricky bits were prising the old wiper off the spindle and making sure the new wiper was aligned correctly. For future reference I advise that you mark where the old wiper parks before taking it off.

Think one of the part numbers listed above is not 100% but if you ask for the wiper blade, arm and nut cover for an 07 Passat estate you'll get the right bits
