Bought this about 2 weeks ago now so thought I would show.

For those interested I used to have a run around and a Vauxhall Nova (1.2) road rally car with lots of mods - too many to list and its the wrong make, then a house was bought so that went and then its taken 2 years to get this car... anyway.

Its an 08 plate (so PD engine) and as standard as it came from the factory. 66k miles with the cambelt done and service intervals at 10k each time - perfect base to personalise the car. Doesn't have any of the typical recalls that Leons normally have but I understand that they affected mostly the 2007 cars.

Car is the newest I have bought... ever.

Mods I have planned are mostly cosmetic:

  • Night breaker lights (althogh Hid is on the cards in the near future)
  • Yellow Fog tints (Love the retro look of them)
  • Carbon wrap on the front chrome surround & wing mirrors
  • Honey comb front grill
  • Lower it a touch - looks a little high on the standard 17" wheels...
  • Front splitter

Interior:

  • LED interior lights
  • Pioneer SPH-100 app radio
  • InPhase kevlar speakers F&R (Do these come with components as standard? I noticed the tweeter area by the handles)

Performance

  • DPF removal & remap... (either once I can afford or when the DPF dies)
  • Better brake pads (Ferodo? EBC? Pagid? Mintex? Carbone Lorriane? any advice would be good!)

Already done:

  • Night breaker lights
  • Carbon FR badge
  • Yellow Fog tints

Any advice on anything with the car is appreciated.

Has anyone carbon wrapped the wing mirrors yet? Could do with a little guide to help.

:D

Nice looking FR. Particularly in red. I've got a black one as a company car.
Never had an issue with the DPF just the pressure sensor that failed at 40K.

Might be worth checking if the injectors have been changed. Not sure if there was a recall but
mine failed 100 miles from home with only 42K on the clock. Had ride back on the back of a lorry.
Seat fixed it for no cost so there must have been a known issue.

Thanks!

Been to the dealer today and they confirmed that the injectors were replaced and all was up to date... I enquired about a splitter, but they didnt have a clue as is normal for those places...

Then I set about turning these fog lights yellow. Took them out as per the guide on the top of the forum, got out the heat gun and went at it - not as hard as I expected! Here is the result:

(the other side is the same... ;))

Next its the wing mirrors with a carbon wrap...
