hi, ive got a 1.4 on a T plate and want to know if i can take the gear stick off because i want to shorten it. thought it would be easier than doing it in the car. any sugestions?

why would you want to shorten your gearstick ??? just get a snooker ball for a gear knob its better then the standard one, smaller and looks awsome :) haha

Can you not modifie the shifter bracket that the shifter cables attach to that sits on top of the gear box?

I have done it to my mk4 ibza and realy makes a good differenca.

side to side is adaptable to a small degree in the same style as mk4 but front to back is fixed by the design at the gearbox end

thanks for the info flapper. will go to the scrappers and get the gear shift assembly and take it apart and see what happens. just wanted something abit different that dont cost muchmoney to do. cheers.
