Hi guys...Iv just had a service, and need new rear brake disks. I'd really love to get bigger brakes all round (312mm maby??). How mu hassle/cost would that be? Iv done a search but still Im not sure. There are some audi tt disks going cheap on ebay at the mo...any idea if they'd fit?? also golf mk4 brake conversion kit..?

Any advice would be appreciated!!
cheers lads

There's no F in Quality..
Mk4 golf ones will fit, you just need to get the conversion hoses from C&R Enterprises in Nottingham, about £25.

The Mk4 callipers will fit with your standard discs.

Don't get the R32 ones, as they won't fit.

The rear brakes only provide about 15% of the total breaking force of the car, so you don't need to fit 'bigger' brakes on the rear.

312mm brakes from a Leon are possible on a Mk2. Have a look for m0rk's thread about fitting them to his Cordoba.

You can get the Ibiza Cupra R set up with Brembo's and 305mm discs, managed to get mine from eBay that were already adapted to fit the mk2 Ibiza but I'm guessing the brackets from the mk3 would also fit the mk2 (correct me if I'm wrong there).

Like Andy said the 312mm discs from Audi TT and Leon will fit m0rk and Greg have done this but you will need to get the discs made up as a TT & Leon are 5 stud and the calipers may need slight mods to fit but that depends on what alloys you plan on using. 16s are a very tight fit with the 312mm discs!

Either than that you could go for grooved discs on your current set up or if you got the 8v they 256mm so up grading to the 16v 280mm set could benefit to! They are a straight swap as a few people have done that on here.

You take a 312mm caliper & carrier, Machine 6mm from the face where the carrier bolts to the upright/hub - this to correct the offset of the carrier so it sits near dammit on the centre line of the disc. The discs will be 5 stud - you will have to drill 2 extra holes to accomadate the 4 stud fitment, I used a spare drive flange and drilled through that. You will need the flexi brake lines from the 312 set up as well as the caliper has a banjo fitment on the caliper and do a little adaptiing where it connects to the solid line

More importantly is wheel clearance, you need at least a 16" rim and a design that has adequate clearance (deep dish wheels are a no no) but you can space out the front a little if needed.
