Hi everyone

Spoke with dealer today about putting in a "Goodwill" fax to Seat UK regarding my mirrors http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=73371.

Even though I tried a few cars whilst I was at the dealers, the dealer asked me
if they were supposed to fold  They then asked me to speak with Seat Tech for advice ( awaiting feedback) and aslo speaking to the supplying dealer. My warranty ran out 4 weeks ago and my argument is, that if the mounts have corroded and by god they are solid, then the corrosion wouldn't have happened in 4 weeks. Perhaps another idea is they've fitted electric folding mirrors and forgotton to fit the correct switch :D what's your thoughts - I think they should manually fold in.

I dont think that mine do. Tried folding them in but didnt want to put to much pressure on them incase they broke. Mine dont look like they fold, they seems to be 1 whole piece (if that makes any sense)

Spooky - I tried an FR TDI and a bottom range model: both sets folded

My old Cupra's used to fold, cos when i fitted my Chrome mirror's you have to be able to fold em in to get the old cap off. They werent electric folding though.

My 54-plate FR's mirrors fold manually. I park on a narrowish road, so I often fold them in. However, it's obvious from looking at them that they're intended to fold. If the ones you're looking at look like they don't fold, then they must have changed the design.

Mine fold and it's a 1.2 reference. Never knew they folded until I kinda knocked one a bit too hard! prob about a year after i got the car!

Ya, im pretty sure they arent meant to fold (all models) if urs dont look like they can aka looks like one unit, thats very weird!

Any chance of some pics? if they look the same as the rest that do fold... it will sorta clear it up a little!? ud think ne way!

Good luck on getting it sorted tho,

I'd have thought that all mirrors should fold, from a safety point of view if nothing else (eg in case of hitting a pedestrian etc).

Both mine fold (manually).

Tried folding mine, one was stuck solid with corrosion, the other came off in my hands. :(

So I'm not the only one with the problem Ed - still waiting for Seat UK to come back to me, but it seems like they all have at leat manual folding mirrors.

Cheers for all your feedback gents/ladies
