lots of places do em. Remember that there is a difference between the pre-facelift and facelift models. If you are feeling handy why not try modding your own one with some fiberglass?

I made mine myself, removed the black inner of the grill then got some s/s mesh and attached it to the grill with a hot glue gun, works a treat. Mine is a post face-lift though, but a mate of mine has done it with a pre face-lift.

Made mine with mesh, and put on a cupra r badge.

But im waiting on my new de-badged slot grill that i bought from a guy selling it on a VW board.

Ebay have them from germany, for 30 quid i think.

I'm not sure if i have a different grille but that doesn't look like it will fit my ibiza :wtf: My grille has the badge like attached in the middle of it from the top and bottom, does anyone have any idea why this is as all your's seem so much easier to sort.

Cheers :D

Ummm... Have a feeling that life is rather more complicated trying to DIY with the pre-facelift grille. If it's any help, if you're looking to buy something, it'll be listed as 93-96 (or possibly 93-97). 97-99 bits mean facelift model - which is a doddle to modify, but I guess you didn't want to hear that, eh? ;)

pre face lift is pretty much as easy as post face lift, just use one peice of mesh, but it will need to held in place with strong bonding or screws.as the centre peice sits outward of the rest of the grille slightly so you have to make a curve in the mesh as its held in place, try not to break where the plastic standard one is glued to the grille surround, these are good places to scew the new bit of mesh to.
I THINK ;)

Thanks for all the help guys :D I've just been thinking could i not remove the centre section of the grille where the badge sits with like a dremel tool or something similar and then mesh the full area that way, or is that the same as what you meant jason?!

So i'll need to remove the badge section and then filler it before doing the mesh?! Doesn't sound as bad as i thought then, might have to give that a shot when we get some better weather anyway :D Anyone know of any sites though that sell the 93-96 grille like hopkinsgm put?!

Why not have a ring around your local breakers yards and see if you can get a spare grille to try it out on? Wouldn't have thought the grille would be too expensive. Believe me, your car *will* look like a total beater for the duration of the grille modifications if you whip the one off your car for a day or two. And if you're going to have to "get jiggy with the filler" to remove the centre section, it might be handy to have a spare to play with/experiment on...
