Telford ay it...
Didnt get this on my mk2

offside headlamp gets full of condensation when it rains and looks terrible. I dont want to go to the lengths of giving the stealers my hard earned for a new one so its the DIY repair solution im after.

Has anyone stripped down a headlight? As in taken the lense off and then resealed it?

Anyhelp appreciated guys :D

Cheers

I've removed the covers from the back of my headlights and they dont mist anymore, however there is a risk of water getting in through the back - i'll be trying the small rubber pipe mod soon!

Wow this is an old one. This is how i solved it.

Wait till you have a nice sunny day (if possible) take off the backs of the lights as if you were going to replace the bulbs.

Then go for a scream up and down the m way for at least 30mins.

let the car sit with the backs still off the lights while the engine is nice and warm.

Replace the backs of the lights before it rains or gets dark.

Repeat until they stay clear.

And get one of them silicone gel things that come in trainers and tape it to the back of one of the back covers ;)

The cilica gel (Spelling) is not a bad plan....

Will try the covers off and blat up and down for a bit.... mostly cos it sounds the most fun way to cure it!:D

Ive drilled some small holes in the backs of my covers and stuck silica gel to the insides, and my headlights no longer steam up! :D
