Hi chaps.

Just joined a couple of days ago so v new here.. [B)]

I still am the proud owner of a Flash red 04 Leon Cupra 150 (or FR as they call it these days..) but..

..I part-ex'ed it for a Cupra R (as they were on the cheap ;) ) and pick it up on Thursday from Castlegate in Norwich.

So many happy people here with stories of their 150's.. I was in Southend Saturday morning and a nice shiny new black one caned me (maybe chipped?) but it made me remember how fast they are :)

Has anyone else ever gone from a TDi 150 to a LCR? Less torque, less fun? Have I done the right thing?!?

Cheers,
Paul.

Nope, bought it totally blind on 31st Dec 2005 - having to wait 3 weeks is a killer [:@]

Glad you recommend it though... Getting a bit jittery..

I only ever sat in one once at the crappy Seat dealer in Braintree (don't ever use) and the seats sold it alone (much better than FR's)

I feel like a kid 2 days and 19 hours before Christmas :D

you will not be disapointed mate. ive had alot of vag diesels (2 leon cupra tdi, ibiza cupra tdi) and this is defo faster and more entertaining to drive, yeah sure you will miss the low down torque but once the power of the LCR hits you all the way to 7000rpm then you will be smiling. The only massive downside is keep filling up every 250 miles...still cant quite beleive how thirsty it is ! Enjoy it .

Changed my Cupra Tdi for a LCR in December. Miss the diesel economy but its way different on the fun factor. My wife drives it more as I have a company car at the moment so she pays for fuel so that side hasnt effected me ;)

You still get a rush of torque. One thing I noticed is how quiet when cruising the engine is. You here lots of different whistles and grunts when giving it pasty aswell.

Pretty similar to you mate - bought it on Jan 5th after a 10 min drive in a LC - lots of 5-4 changes and I'm sure I'll have a lot more.

Expected mine last Friday but found out today that the dealer misled me about the paperwork and instead of putting it into the DVLA last Wednesday, he did it today - absolutely furious [:@] [:@]

Never mind - hopefully this week......

Of course it's fast, it has +75hp.
Personally don't think that it's any more entertaining than a TDi + we don't have problems with coil packs..:p

I brought my car from Southend, but have used Braintree for service ever since and they have been great, no problems at all. They are 100 times better than Colchester that I used for my Ibiza!!!!

Unless you are getting Recaro's, I thought the seats were the same in the LC and the LCR???

Oh.. I thought the seats in the Cupra R at Braintree were standard ones.. Gutted cos they were gorgeous.. Will find out I guess in a couple of days!

I had some dodgy experiences with Johnson Seat.. Once I found mud all over everything inside after my 20k service and another time they said they fixed the rear washer pipe leak but it was still p**sing everywhere in the boot... And the receptionist is pretty dizzy...

I reckon the best Seat dealers are Cambridge Marshalls and Castlegate Norwich..
