Miltek worth it on a LC?

Look at a resonated Miltek for my LC and just a question of whether people think it's worth it.. I'm under the impression the std exhaust lasts forever?

not sure about 'forever'!!

I've just put my LC through it's first MOT, and whilst it passed there was an advisory on there that the backbox mounting was not 100% so I guess the mounting brackets are likely to fail before the exhaust does!!

If it's worth it depends on what you want it for. There wont be any real gains to be had in terms of performance with a cat-back exhaust, but it will sound nicer. The standard exhaust will last as long as the car - with the exception of the mountings which you've already changed - so no real gain there.

There are better things to spend the money on, that's for sure :)

my std exhuast caused the car to fail its 1st MOT
it got a whole new one under warranty, which 1 year on fell to bits again
now got a blueflame turbo back

The exhaust on my 2000 (x-plate) LC lasted until jan this year - best part of 85k miles & 6 1/2 years. about half of that remapped & with at least 12 track days thrown in.

What finally went was the down-pipe section splitting, stiffer engine mounts & the other half reversing it into a muddy pile of earth was what probly did it in, was rusty but fine until that :)

Got a full Miltek turbo-back setup and it changes the sound quite a bit, nicer deeper tone at idle. Performance is also a lot better that the standard exhaust cant flow enough at hi RPM (power starts to drop around 5k rpm) and was pulling until 6k.

At Knockhill on track that works out at about 5mph faster at the end of the straights :)

Mmm sounds good.

Did you go for the resonated and how intrusive is the exhaust not in the cabin?

Heard the downpipe is really restrictive on the cupra? I know standard ones are always, but more than most on the cupra!!
Really wanna get mine changed and get a nice system with a good looking tail pipe as i hate the standard 2 pipes.
Really wanted an oval each side but had a look underneath the otherday and looks like one hell of a job. Have to cut the tow ring off and the spare wheel well would have to hit a few times with a lump hammer to make some room (im loosing the spare soon for an install anyway). Also pipe work would be running mighty close to the fuel tank then so have to watch the heat.

Anyone fitted or seen a leon with a twin exit that has a tailpipe where the tow ring should be? please say yes and put a perfect set of pictures on here:p. (dont think ive got much chance of pics lol)
