I've had a Miltek non-res exhaust fitted for about 6 months or so on my LCR and over the past few months Ive noticed that if any one sits in the back seats the exhaust rattles and vibrates on something.

Upon further inspection it turns out that the exhaust is catching the rear axle where it rise's up over but when the car is sat at standard height, unladen ,there is only about a 20mm gap between exhaust and axle.

To stop this at the om I have attached a slice of exhaust hanger to the axle to deaden the vibration but as the car is still standard height this surely can't be right as this would rest on the axle if the car where lowered??

Anyone else had this, or something similar, and if so what have you done to combat it??

i'd take it back to where you had it fitted and get them to adjust it.

No it's not an allignment issue as would have done that if that were the case but exhaust sits straight and true and doesn't sag on the hangers. If I didn't know better I'd almost say it was a manufactor error......???

Is it just the bend is to close to the beam or the fact the bend needs to go back or forwards a bit?

If its to far foward or back you might be able to get a little bit of adjustment on the joins?

my miltek did the same once warmed up and pipe had expanded. took it to local garage who tapped it in a little further which cured it.

Prior to that i rang Miltek asking if they knew of problems and they firmly said its perfect and bring the car to them and they`ll sort it FOC.

Maybe worth ringing them.

Yea its by a bend curving up over the rear axle but the bend doesn't seem to be hitting its the staright and the straight is what I have only about 20mm play with. Damn thing would be resting on the axle if it were lowered!

Cheers may get on the blower to Miltek as can't see that moving it in or out any would adjust the height of the straight section. Will phone tomorrow and pop the response up. :)

When you have people in the back the car sits lower and the axle doesnt move. the axle pipe needs moving slightly, this wont affect the way the tail pipes sit.
we see this all the time at awesome with people putting there cars on coilovers and then the exhaust hits the rear axle cause the body of the car is lower.
its about 10 - 15 mins job to fix
