I Have Just Had A Miltek Downpipe & Cat Fitted To My Mk3 Cupra And It Only Came With A New Gasket. The Mechanic Said He Had To Use A Reducer To Adapt The Race Cat To Fit The Supersprint Centre Section. I Thought That It Was Direct Fitment. Has Anyone Else Had This Problem.

I Have Been Told By The Supplier That They Fit Direct Onto A Standard System Which Doesnt Make Sense Because The Mechaninc Used A Reducer To Make It Fit And Surely The Suspersrint Centre Section Would Be A Larger Bore Then The Standard Pipe.

Does The Standard System Come With A Cetnre Silencer? I Dont Know If It Does As I Brought The Car With The Supersprint System On It. The Guy I Got It Off Said It Had A Supersprint Cat Back System. I Know The Back Box Is As Its Engraved But I Cant Be Sure About The Centre Section . I Believe It Is As People Have Mentioned On Here That The Supersrpint Cetnre Section Has No Silencer Which Mine Doesnt.

depends on which supersprint exhaust he had put on it,

one type is the same diameter as standard pipe, which sounds like the one you've got, as i'm running a milltek dp and cat, and supersprint cat back, and didnt need a reducer, but i got the bigger supersprint one, which it 2.5" in diameter

Supersprint do two systems. One shiny stainless which is 2.5" and called the race system and one mild steel which is 2" which has black pipework. My guess is you've got the 2" system thats why you need a reducer.

I've got the miltek downpipe/cat mated to a supersprint race system with no probs.

Ok Thanks For The Response. My Car Is Booked In At Jabbasport This Wednesday For A Rempap. Will The Current Cat Back System Restrict It A Great Deal Due To The Overall Diameter?

Nah probably not on standard turbo, the major restriction is the standard downpipe/cat. Will probaby have little effect on a generic/"custom" map.
