ive had my miltek cat back for just short of a year now and in all that time i can not find any one who can stop it from rattling!!!
the exhaust seems to sit tight to the left hand side of the tunnel causing rattling and also somewhere towards the rear.

today i took it to an audi garage as my dad works there and they reckon nothing can be done!? they reckon the only way round it would be a decat or sport cat as they reckon the problem is the connection to the cat.

i love the quality welds and the noise i get. just sick of the rattling now.

has any one else had this problem?
is it worth a call to milltek customer services?
feed back would be great guys thank you.

I got my Miltek last September and mine rattles on the centre section and on the rear bumper when cold or with anyone else in the car.

I have taken it back to the place I bought it from once already to have it adjusted, but this seems to of only fixed it temporarly.

Must admit that I haven't gone back again yet.

Have you binned the standard exhaust hangers/rubbers at all? Maybe worth a shot maybe not, try some uprated Powerflex items they may help, they dont cost too much from demon Tweeks.

In short, loosen all the exhaust clamps and push the whole system forward so that the hangers are all pointing towards the front of the car and the tailpipes sit flush with the cut out in the bumper.

I`d uprate the exhaust mounts to. I used to use powerflex with no issues.

this sounds like the thing to try, problem is i dont have a ramp to do this and how will this stop the exhaust being tight up the left hand side of the tunnel?
will milltek customer services help out?

they sometimes rattle on the rear beam too ! usually due to the rubbers being too long westy cupra had the same prob and fitted uprated /shorter rubbers problem sorted . A right bugger to get on mind !

Here, there and everywhere ;)
The position of the system is determined by how far the pipework is pushed together and how the hangers sit.

When initially installing the system the hangers need to sit forward of the vertical position by approx 15mm, once the system has warmed up they will sit vertically or as close as - given that the systems can sometimes grow by approx 25mm once hot.

Also new or uprated rubbers will solve the problem of incorrect positioning.

Hope this helps.
