Sorry if this has been asked before thinking of getting the milltek system but not sure how it will sound on my tdi, heard exhausts on a few diesels like 306's and they sound shocking don't really want the same result for my car, any answers on how it would sound would be great. thanks mitch also what is this resonated and non resonated ?

res has a centre box, non res has none (shock horror!!) from what i've read diesels don't realy need a resonated system as they're not that loud unless i am mistaken. as for how it will sound i'm not sure on that one as mine's a 1.8t

TDI,
Get a turbo downpipe.
Decatted system with a straight through pipe.
The airflow will make so much difference to revving and acceleration.

Get a custom system it'll be cheaper and you can have it decatted then.

had my last 2 exhausts done there but took the girlfriends golf and had nothing but problems and ended up taking the old 206 to get a powerflow system but i don't want the exhaust tone to be loud id prefere it just for looks as daft as it may sound haha

Go to custom pipes in Doncaster. He's done a fair few TDi systems now.

Saves a few hundred quid over the Milltek.

Ive got a turbo back, de-cat with small silencer, and the sound is just right. Nice and quiet on the motorway, but sounds good when booted. Think mine was £300 all in.

Bit of a video of mine for sound.

If you only want it for looks get a cat back then as it's not cheap at all for a whole system! I got a non resonated Milltek cat back makes a little bit of noise which is what I wanted a loud chavy exhaust would be irritating for me and others at home and not my scene! May get the rest on the system at a later date but couldn't justify spending all that money unless I was going to do lots of engine mods with it. If you are then go for it! Milltek is very expensive as well the only reason I went with them is cos there was such a good deal on them at the time.

well bit by bit im going for the overall performance front so i'd rather spend my money on something i can keep for when i go for the extra performance boosts so i can pay for things bit by bit and not rush into it and regret things later on haha thats why i was wondering if i bought the bigger downpipe on it's own if i'd benifit from it at all ?
