Had the new exhaust fitted the other week - just getting round to posting pics.

I'm sure you will agree it's a huge difference from the standard version.

i called in to speak to Jim he mentioned they had a silver Leon in for a Milltek to be fitted for a guy from edinburgh put 2&2 together. GTI back box i believe? looks good, any diff in the performance, whats the noise like? they are trying to get a pipe long enough for my FR as your cars exhaust is diff from mine, Milltek are taking a while to get back to them, but if there is no real perf gains i may just leave it.

Yes, it was my Leon in with Star Performance that day.

It is the GTi back box fitted to the A3/Golf 2.0TDi front section. Works a treat though.

There feels like there is slightly more shove from third onwards. Had a cheeky blast down the A1 on the way home the other night and I got a shock when I looked at at the speedo - 120mph+ and still pulling very strongly in 5th! A little deceiving to be honest because it felt so strong and safe.

Have to say the remap is the main reason behind this but it does feel even stronger higher up the gears. I don't think the exhaust has increased the BHP or torque maximums - it just feels like it has altered the power/torque curves - it feels more leggy in the higher gears. Hard to describe.

I should have got Star to put it on the rolling road just to see what has changed and where.

Put it this way I think the 140mph max on the speedo is very, very achievable with a remap on it's own - 194BHP for gods sake!

The reason I went for the Milltek is beacuse I know their not into the full on boy racer loudness - like the (ahem) supersprint. It's not too big, not too loud and just looks great. Plus the whole thing is aircraft grade stainless steel so it will never rust! It's nice having 'Milltek' stamped on the top of the pipes too!

If I had the FR, not sure I would have changed it to be honest cos I like the exhaust already fitted as standard. Pretty sure the FR is bog standard steel from the tailpipes back though so it will inevitably rust at some point.

is it the resonated box or non resonated? it does look good. I cant justify paying for it if it doesnt do anything above stock.
had a milltek on my golf and it was good apart from a booming @80mph

It's the resonated version I've got fitted but to be honest it still sounds better than the standard set up - especially for an oil burner!

It's as quiet as a mouse at 80mph - no booming whatsoever.
