Milltek Cat has had it!

Hi all,

A few weeks ago i started to hear my exhaust making funny noises and at last i took it to the local garage and once on the ramp it was crystal clear that the sports CAT was blowing. It was blowing from the front of the Cat where the flexible mesh is. I was told this is the only part where it will be impossible to repair and i would need to buy another one. Im so gutted as it cost me just under £400 and that was only a year and half ago.

Anyone know if its worth getting another one or are there other options eg..blueflame..?

I think they are supposed to have a life time warranty but not sure about the CATs, however i didnt purchase it from Milltek i bought it from a guy from Tuning Werkes and the garage who fitted it has closed down, not that they would able to help.

The lifetime warrenty should travel with the product, even if it doesn't say you lost the reciept

they definately have life time warranty, as long as u have the receipt for it they should warranty it

Hi all i have spoken to Milltek and they need a receipt and a photo of the Cat.

I dont know why they need a photo but i guess they want to see the condition of it.

Looks like im going to have to turn my room upside to find this receipt.

Does anyone know if they replace it or do they try to repair the CAT???

Hi,

Just some feedback, i removed my Milltek CAT today and have now put the original CAT back on with a little help from AMD Technik in Woking. Simon was nice enough to provide me with a reducer pipe to allow my original CAT to fit my 63mm Centre pipe so thanks AMD.

The car sounds a lot more quiet now with this standard cat on, however my Milltek was extra loud as it was blowing so i cannot compare.

NOW interestingly the power does feel like its being held back and the boost gauge peaks at 1.1Bar whereas with the Milltek it peaked at 1.3/1.4 Bar. So i definately agree these CATs do provide us with more power.!

i will be sending my broken CAT to Milltek and hope to receive a replacement soon as.

Cannot wait to feel the difference with a 100% healthly Milltek sports CAT back on

I'm sure Milltek will sort you out with a replacement mate. They should also pay for it to be fitted.

the mesh is replaceable its the flexy, iv replaced 1 before on a mgf, they are available on ebay, that is if miltek wont replace it for you

Just an update to the thread. i have now received another CAT from Milltek and i cannot wait to get it back on the LC. Thank you so much MILLTEK! I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone i was in contact with at Milltek you were all really helpful and i am so glad i chose to but a Milltek CAT in the end. Great customer service!

Hi just to close this thread the Milltek is back on and WOW!!! you can definately feel the power delivery has changed it feels so much better than the OE CAT, END OF.
Anyone thinking of getting one JUST DO dont think about it.
