Im just wondering what sort of mileage everyone changes their timing belts at. My pd140 has done 40,000 miles and has been mapped since new so im guessing it will be due soon. What sort of prices are you looking at for parts and fitment?

Thanks in advance

Dave :D

yeah 4 years or 80k miles, although I think vag actually lowered it to 70k at some point, you would prob be better to do it around 60-70k to be on the safe side, you might not have her by that point!

Couldn't agree more, 70k maximum i would say. Best have the cost of it being replaced rather than the cost of the repair.

I had mine done at 40,000 miles as it was 4 years old and is recommended at 4 years for a mk1 Leon, not sure what it is for a mk2 though.

Do you live in Marske-by-the-Sea? I do, never seen your car around though! I got my timing belt done at Lawson Cars in Middlesbrough for £195 inc. a new water pump which is very reasonable and I would recommend them.
