Middle Front Grill removal

Hi all,

I've done a search and can't really find this. So sorry if there is something i've missed.

How can one remove the front inner grill (with the Seat badge on), do replace it with a nice FK debaged one?

Im not sure but think the grill comes joined with bumper.

i had a look and the inner grill is seperated and just appears clipped in (with a screw holding the inner to the outer. But it won't quite come out.

i was once trying to take the grill out. but couldnt as it the bumper was moving with it as well. so left it! Thats a risk

I cannot be certain, but I think the inner is moulded to the outer, I know people have changed them, cos i looked at doing mine a couple of months ago, and couldn't see how to get it out, without taking the front bumper unit off completely.

The one with the "S" badge in it is the only part that removes seperately..
To remove the grill with the S, you first remove the cover on top of it, which is only clipped in place, then under that your find a single screw in the top of the grill, remove this.
Once that screw is removed you need to get your fingers or a small screw driver behind the grill and using the tool or your finger, pull the "click tabs" on the back of the grill, there are four, two at the top, two at the bottom.
I suggest unclipping/releasing the bottom two tabs first, then the grill will pull out if you pull at the right angle.
Hard to describe, but once you look behind the grill your understand what you need to do.

sorry to bring back an old thread but i can't remove my centre grill with the S in. i can't see the click tabs slick mentioned. mines a 2001 LC180. no chrome surround. is mine different to the above? can it be removed. the only clips i can see are right on the top but they dont seem to release anything?

There is a screw on the top remove that and then pull it from the bottom.

i removed the screw and tried all sorts of ways of pulling . short of pulling the whole bumper off i gave up. thought there was a trick i was missing but maybe not. might just be stuck with years of dirt?? i'll have another go later. cheers anyway.
