Me thinks I've knackered my remote central locking

Hello everyone, got a problem which I hope someone on here will have either come accross before and is able to help.

This afternoon I was out fiddling with the interior lights of the car (as I'm looking to fit LED's) and really struggled to get anywhere with one of the rear interior lights, I couldn't get it to come out at all. Anyway, as I'm sure you all know there are sensors on the mouldings to the interior alarm sensor and I don't know if I've managed to damage something here.

Well, when I came to finish and walked away pressing the button on the key to lock the car, nothing happened. No locking, no lights flashing, nothing. "Bugger" I thought what have I done. Hence my question really, any clues from anyone about what might have happened.

The doors all lock and unlock properly with the key in the door, all the interior lights work fine so I don't think it is a fuse blown - do you think I've lost the 'sync' between the car and the key. (My other spare remote key doesn't work either.) If so, any idea how I may have done this? The key worked fine 10 minutes before I came to lock it.

Obviously any advice from anyone would be really appreciated.

You've blown fuse 13 or 38 IMO.

Thanks for the reply Dave - I've just been out to check and it's not 38 or 13, or any other fuses for that matter.

To give you an update, the interior lights don't actually work, my mistake.

Any other suggestions from anyone would be more than helpful.

The procedure for re-syncing the remote is in the manual, although if the interior lights aren't working, it does seem to suggest that this isn't the problem

Have you just looked at the fuses or actually replaced them one by one with a spare?. Sometimes they be damaged without actually looking to be broken/burnt/snapped etc..

did u unplug any of the connectors on the rear sensors/lights units .. cause if i remember rightly its quite easy to accidently force the connector on the wrong way round

Thanks for all your help. Fuse 14 has blown which having just read the owners manual is for the Central Locking and Interior Lights. If only I'd looked there first!

Sorry mate, i meant 14 but couldn't remember off the top of my head so told you 13 by mistake. glad its sorted though

i had this problem today aswell!! haha.. was so annoyed when it wouldnt work, thanks everyone though!
