well lincoln dealer was a joke, rang scunthorpe and they only had a cupra tdi in

rang grimsby dealer and they had a couple in, had a look and i am impressed. just need to try and sort finance now, as their deals were not great compared to ones i have seen online

plus side was they will give me 1200 quid for my current motor :)

just need to see if i can get some finance sorted externally before next weekend to secure one of the 3 unsold ones in the country

only 1 guy in today and i was in there about 20mins before he said anything, said what i was looking for but just did not seem to want to help me out at all

pleased with the trade in deal for mine, shame the finance from them didn't come up great as i know i can get better deals by about 50quid a month online. because i cannot afford what they were giving me price per month at the dealership

keep haggling with the dealer, they can always go lower on the interest rate than they admit!!!!

when i got my cupra they made a mistake in the sums of the car. long story but basically they had deducted twice the value of my trade car from the price of the cupra. i noticed, but obviously didnt say anything. the day before i picked up the car i got a phone call "eh sorry theres been a mistake bla bla". i gave them a bit of grief saying i couldnt afford the monthly payments anymore and before i knew it they were back on the phone saying they had managed to reduce my monthly payments, previously they had told me they couldnt go any lower on the interest!

if they want to sell the car bad enough they will try n sort u out, but im guessing if theres only 3 unsold in the country the balls in there court not yours but maybe its worth a shot! my dealers (apart form their poor maths) were very helpful and very keen to help me get a good deal. plus they offer the gap insurance on finance.

why don't you buy it privately, and sell your part ex cheaper ? your cost to change will be a lot lower.

don't be dazzled by a high part ex cost, they're just making it out of you on the sale (and then some)

well i have found a finance deal for 50quid a month cheaper than the dealer was offering, pcp one where i think they pay for the car for you and you pay them back

not getting a loan for it as i don't want to be paying the remaining balance on the car for 5 years, and i can't afford it otherwise

PCP? but then the cars not yours..... wouldn't always say a lease is a good idea, especially if you do any miles.

Sell you privately and see what u get i would imagine its worth more than 1200 quid to anyone.... especially if you can get 12 month tax on it.

As for a finance package I take it you have shopped around the banks and online is there any chance of a mini loan from the bank of mum and dad... always cuts the costs down greatly.

Is it necessary to purchase a car right now.. imo towards the end of the summer the stealer would be more loose on the price and most peeps are gonna have blown their cash on holidays not cars.

In all honesty a private sale would save you a rather large lump and you could then get a third party warrenty for the motor.

i have looked around the finance packages, i really don't want to be spending more than 4 years paying a car off and really for a brand new one its over 5 years for it to be affordable to me

the thing is i don't want to be spending more than 180quid a month on the car, i have 3.5k deposit which includes my current car value as well

i may have to bite the bullet and just get a second hand one a year or 2 old as 6k over 3 years i can afford, but i really have my heart set on a brand new red one

i brought a brand new car once. Never again. Ok so you 3 years warrenty and that lush feeling of brand new. You also have to drive like a anny while it beds in and then wrap it in kid gloves.

Oh and of couse theres te 3-4 grand you lose on face value as soon as you leave the forecourt.

I paid 10k for a beeza tdi fr 8 months old with 7k on the clock. Brand new. I'm looking 15k at best...

just seen a 07 plate in derby for less than 10k which seems good, although still seems a bit low for the price but then its not a seat dealer which may explain it

may have another word with my parents, they said they would lend me money for a car before so may see what they say to that idea

exactly the point there matey. The bank of mom and dad are generally low (Apr) than any bank. Be nice smile and go for broke. Work out a repayment plan before asking them too would be advisable as saying dad i need 4 grand would normally result in me getting a clip round the ear hole.
