Just wondering what the most powerful Ibiza MK4 diesel has been so far. Saw some lovely turbo conversions which seemes to make 300bhp possible from the 1.9 PD engine but not sure how the chassis would cope especially with front wheel drive??? Would 250bhp be more realistic?

i believe vw racing run these at 300bhp , as far as i know the block has to be homolagated ( typo) so they must use stock pistons n rods etc , so the capacity is there , i dont know how often they rebuild or replace the engines tho , id say 250 would be a safe limit for a daily driver , tho will need a nozzle upgrade to get past circa 230bhp

so with around 250 hp...estimated cost? or is that a long and difficult question? :) Obviosuly things like suspension, brakes would need to be upgraded but just on the performance side?

cool so for £15,000 I'll have an 06 plate 260bhp Ibiza... Plus everything else I'll need to do to keep the power on the road rather than in the hedge... food for thought! still learning you see! Oh yeah and I'd need to find the extra £5000.... :D

Well, you may have all that power for that price, BUT, will you beable to put it down on the standard tyres? will u beable to stop on the standard brakes? and will you beable to go round corners fast and safe?

These are also very important areas that you need to look into first before doing the power. Lots of people go for big power first, and then end up they cant use it, brake quickly or handle good.

Just think about that before going for big power.

Oh and in the wet or ice (devonmikeyboy ;) ) you can hardley get the power down at all, even in 3rd gear at about 3500 rpm, it will still spin up as easy as it turning the engine off, of that makes sense.

yeah, agreed, like I said, "Plus everything else I'll need to do to keep the power on the road rather than in the hedge" having had the car for 2k so far I'm still learning what it can and can't do, besides my insurace company would have a good chuckle if I asked for a quote with all those mods. More out of interest to be honest, Revo first then brakes i think anyway... and we'll see wher the mood takes me.... :D
