Max boost on a PD130

How much boost can the stock internals of a healthy PD130 withstand?

For those with aftermarket turbos (like a 17/22) what is a strong but streetable sustained boost setting/value and roughly what BHP value would this be?

While this might be old to you I'm blazing a new path on this side of the pond and appreciate the knowledge.

Thanks

My chipped PD130 with VNT20 hybrid peaks at something silly like 2.2 - 2.3 bar in some gears, but is set to a steady 1.8 bar, whatever that is in LB? 26psi. :) It does hold 2.0 bar constant at times, but usually is a bit lower.

My Cupra was chipped to 2.2 bar which is 32.34 PSI but i did have it running at 2.4 bar - 35.27 PSI for a while. Its not what pressure the engine can safely run at it`s more down to what the turbo can handle.

Welcome

Both the remaps I've had on PD130s have held boost around 1.55-1.6 bar.
This is on standard engines with standard turbos.

I'm getting a revised Upsolute map today, with reduced torque at lower rpm to prevent clutch slip, and a stronger top end than standard.
I'll hopefully do some logging with vag-com when it's done, and see what's changed.

Does anyone know what the VT range are based on. Take it the low number are based on the GT1749VA(b) will a GT20 Compressor. Do they use the GT2052/GT2056 for any of them?

There`s a 2.1 stroker kit avaiable for the 1.9 PD TDI engine now mate. I would love to have that fitted to my Cupra.
You know i feel really sorry for you about my old turbo blowing up but you also broke the new replacement turbo.
