Apparently Matt Neal is going to be on Chris Evans show tonight (Wednesday) between 5 and 7pm. It will be interesting to hear what Neal the Squeal (or Neal the Squirrel as my little girl calls him!) has to say, possibly about other drivers.......

I listened to about 20 seconds of it, then I turned it off because Chris Evans whiny voice does my head in!

There was only 20 seconds! I was shocked at how little airtime Neal got compared to the other interviewees that preceeded him like Marty Pellow and some butler got. I am sure they were given more airtime than Neal.

I notice he said something like "Theirs Vauxhall, Honda, SEAT and a whole host of other manufacturers". Neal is either illiterate or he was struggling to consense everything because theirs only 2 manufacturers. He should have said something like

"Theirs two factory teams, Vauxhall and SEAT. The rest Independents. They battle for points in one or more Championships standings; overall Teams and Drivers, Teams and Drivers for Independents and Manufacturers. They get ballast. For race 1 they get ballast according to where they are in the Drivers Championship. For races 2 & 3 they get ballast for their finishing position in the previous race but the grid for race 3 is a reversal of race 2's order." I think that could easily have been fitted into the time he had.

I was expecting him to launch into a load of abuse against JP but didn't. Also I was surprised they introduced him as a leading driver, not the reigning champion. Much as it irritates me that he is the champion, I rather thought the BBC would have introduced him properly. ;)

I am glad at that at least. But then again was it the time or place to launch into a tirade against his biggest rival? Was he there to be given a chance to launch into a tirade against Jase (my affectionate well intentioned name for Jason)?

Also I was surprised they introduced him as a leading driver, not the reigning champion. Much as it irritates me that he is the champion, I rather thought the BBC would have introduced him properly. ;)

They were very vague weren't they. People interested in getting into the BTCC probably left with more questions than they began.

The other guy who hosted with Chris Evans was not helping. One question he asked made me say "What a stupid question!". He asked Neal if they raced in teams. Errr, course they do! Racing drivers don't race in any other way. Whether it's two wheels or four. Tin-tops or single seaters.
