Main Difference ?

Hi

Im after a Leon Cupra but not sure which to buy. The Cupra or the Cupra R ?

Is it the same car but with more BHP i.e. Different ECU map or something ? if so, could i buy the cupra and chip it to obtain the R performance or are the differences a little more complicated !!!

The R has a larger turbo than the cupra , uprated suspension and better brakes. You should see R performance from a Cupra after a remap around the 210 Ish Bhp mark.
The R also has a slightly different body style too.
Its been covered alot m8 prolly best to do a search for more info.

if you are going to get a cupra and chip it to be the same as the cupra then you may as well get a cupra R.
I always wanted a cupra r and nothing but, but stumbled across a ovni yellow turbo cupra and have not looked back since.

I have the 20vt cupra, and now wish i'd spent the extra buying the "R" tbh, you have to consider what it going to cost firstly the R will cost more to buy, more to insure depending on your age, you'll probably want to start adding/ changing bit's like wheels suspension, arb's etc, etc, which you'll want to do to either especially the cupra 20vt cos the handling isn't up to much if you push it too hard, better to start with the "R" first i personally feel, at least now i do.....

Although it's a bit late for me cos i've started the mods already, if i was in your position i'd way it all up and go for the "R" ....

Look and travel, thats what i did, traveled from Glasgow to Heathrow for mine!
Get the R! You will not regret it!

id probably agree. if i didnt have my cupra i would probably have got a cupra r. worth the money difference
