MAF warranty

Had a quick search couldnt see it mentioned, has anyone got an idea of how long the maf warranty is with vw ?

Gave my mate ago of the car before and he wheels spun over the drainage grid in works car park and threw up afew fault codes which (17964,16486 and 01314) which from what i have searched is the mafs nackered

Cheers mate i bought the maf 9/1/2006 so my warranty ran out yesterday fantastic

ill give them a call tomz see if they will let me off with 1 day

How old is your car? How old is your MAF?
edit: posted too late. Yes, 2 year parts warranty I think. Have you got an induction kit on?

Like I said, 2 years' parts warranty from the dealer - if you can get them to honour it. Have you got an induction kit on?

I did have a pipercross induction kit on but i took it off about a month or 2 ago and replaced it with the standard air box and green panel filter

1, your mate is a c0ck. or you happy with him doing that with your car?
2, is there a light on the dash?
3, check the wires on the maff are plugged in ok. its not uncommon for people to break the connector a bit so it may have come off.

Dealer might blame the green panel if they look in the box. Might be worth investing a few £££ in a std paper one before you get them to check your MAF.......

I was in the car with him mate and the grid runs the full width of the car park but some idiot must have lifted the grid and as it was dark we couldnt see it

Traction control light is on the dash but ill give the cables a once over first cheers mate

vibration is not a friend of the maf... so it could have failed.
but hope it gets sorted.
might be worth trying a fault code erase, esp if the wires appear loose.

Just been out to log my maf and it was 0.08 g/s at idle it pulled a massive 0.06 g/s from 3500rpm upwards

So its off to vw tomorrow for a new maf under warranty hopefully
