How about a few abuse runs and then a general pootle to an MOT centre? I too thought it was only fueling that was effected, and that it'd run on a safe map which would be slightly richer.

why would you want to do the MOT with no maf? will increase the chances of a fail I'd think?

is the CEL part of the MOT yet too? there was rumour it might be - if so get some 'trim' out to cover it

Because at the moment due to the Mk4 Samco TIP air is blowing past the MAF causing the car to stall when the clutch is depressed at low speeds. Engine light doesn't come on any more and airbag light flashes and disapears. All OK for the MOT.

Also removed the rear seats to keep them happy about it not having rear seat belts but 3-Point harnesses.

I asked the maf/mot question last year and everyone advised me connect the maf for the mot. But I can't remember if i did or not now...it passed tho lol.
