MAF Part #'s see bottom post

Right i went and purchased some contact cleaner from Maplin.

I know from past cars that MAF's can be very senstive to touch, and you can really bugger them up.

So what i'm wanting to know is, how i clean the thing with aerosol contact cleaner without breaking it.

Do i need to take the sensor out of the plastic tubing its screwed into, do i just spray into the tubing?

Any help appreciated, i did search but i couldn't find anything detailing what exactly you do.

Cheers

Tim

I removed my maf from the housing, put it in a large drug bag, and submerged it overnight in IPA. Made no difference whatsoever.

Can someone tell me what the difference is between the following part numbers:

06A906461D
and
06A906461L

Looking at the the part codes thread above the top one should be right, can anyone tell me why a cupra might have one ending in L fitted?

isopropyl alcohol from maplins thats the best and only liquid to use....... take the maf out of the housing and then get a clear plastic bag put the maf in then completely submerge the maf sensor in the isopropyl for 10 mins then take it out and let it dry naturally hey presto jobs done and the maf will be as good as new
