According to VAG COM my MAF is either on its way out or in need of a clean. What's the best was to clean them and what do you use?? Been recommended a certain contact cleaner and have some super solve from my brother, will this be ok??

Also how would u recommend I keep it clean and maintained?? Heard that vibration is a killer for them so how can I make sure my BMC and TIP is as vibration free as possible??

If I need a new MAF where is the best place to pick one up and what price am I looking at??

This is now I have my BMC mounted at present:

Use isopropynol to clean it, basically electrical cleaner. Just be gentle taking it out and drop it in a glass of the stuff apparently.

For a replacement maf try Seat as they offer a return scheme, also ECP and a few places on here sell them.

BTW, what reading were you gettin to say the maf is dead?

I haven't logged it yet but got this error code:

17536 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Mult): System too Lean
P1128 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

I've cleared the code and I'm going to clean the MAF, log it to see what readings I get and also see if the fault returns

I'm probably just clumsy - but I tried cleaning mine when it was dodgy and just made it worse - i.e. totally :censored: ed. You are probably going to need a new one anyway but good luck with cleaning it.

 u got me scared now, might just not bother and just do the logging and see if the fault returns.

If it is dodgy and causing you hassle then you have nowt to lose! Try cleaning, if it works then good, if not you are no worse off.
