Hi
Get a Haynes Ford Galaxy manual and all will be explained.
Are you trying to remove complete unit with disc and caliper or just the strut and spring ?
If just the strut and spring then you need to ondo the large bolt that goes across the strut holding the base of the strut onto the wheel hub. You also need to remove the bolt holding the tie bar to the strut and you need to remove the top strut bolt inside the engine compartment. All this is easy to do but the top nut can be siezed as it gets all the water running down the screen onto it so a good dousing with a releasing oil before you start is a good idea. Once you undo this top nut be careful as the stut will drop down so be prepared to hold it in place whilst undoing the last few threads. Once this nut is undone you will need to turn the strut back and forth until it is removed from the hub section.
If you are stripping the unit down to replace the rubber donut or the top bearing just make a note of how they are set up as you are stripping as it is very easy to put back together incorrectly.
