basically..i purchased a brand new ibiza 1.4 dab edition ....and when i got it i noticed that the trim on the roof ceiling was not done properly and the glovebox only opened 1/2 and inch...so i took this to seat and they firstly refused to fix the roof lining..as the guy said it must have been me..and after telling him that it probably happened when they put in the dab areial..he listened. anyway they fixed the lining...and the glove box seemed o.k...until the next day..when the glovebox wouldnt open more then 1/2 inch again.
i took it back again...and also when i took it back...the brakes were squeeking really bad...which i didnt think should have happened...as the car was only a few months old....and also i noticed that there were no rear speakers in the car...i was told it had a 6-speaker system ...n when getting my system professionnaly upgraded...the guy opened the rear door card...and there was no tweeters ....so when i took it back....the man at seat came to hav a look at where the speaker is ment to be...and was lookin for 10min at the speaker casing...and when asked me to put only the rear speakers on....stuck his ear to the speaker for 5 min...what a complete moron...anyway...they took the car in...and when i got it back...they said there was no sqeeking from the brakes....and the speakers would be £150+labour as it was a mistake...and ti was too late to complain..as the car is more then 3months old..
hearing this i told them it was there fault....and so rang seat uk to complain about the speakers...and then then later came to the conclusion that it was a mistake...but they cant fix it. also the brakes were still sqeeking...and the glovebox wasnt fixed properly....so i took it back again...and had noticed that when i dun a full-lock right turn...there was this worrying grinding/squeeking noise...and for them to fix the brakes and the glovebox....
when i went to pick up the car...they said they had fixed the glovebox....they had no realised that the brakes were squeeking...and to fix the brakes...it would require 1hr labour as they need to be cleaned and sanded down....and they came to the conclusion that the sqeeking grinding noise was due to...a can of lighter fluid in the underseat draw.....on hearing this...i thought it was a joke...as the noise was from the wheel....and when i realised they werent joking...i thought that the qualifications required to become a mechanic at seat had dropped..as that was the most pathetic answer i have ever heard...and i am also no willing to pay for the brakes to be cleaned...as it should have been fixed months before...
so...i have got my service due now....and am wondering what to do about the problems...the glovebox has finally been fixed...but the brakes stil squeel badly....and the grinding noise is stil there when doing a full right lock....please advise....should i go to a different garage? speak to seat directly?
thanks, med
