:D Can't wait!!

I have to spend all day at work, then dash to meet my BF who will give me a lift to the Seat dealer where I'll be collecting my new FR :D First ever Seat for me, hope it proves to be a good choice.

TDi - I need a practical car for the long commute. I have a petrol fun car for the weekends.... but will be nice having a practical car that is also a bit fun and is a bit more distinctive than the typical hatch or saloon you see going up and down the motorway each day.

I am looking forward to getting it.

nowt wrong with seat, i've gone from a golf to an a3 to a leon and the build is fine, agreed its not in the same build as the A3 but it ain't bad, don't forget...

1/ meet boyfriend for trip to dealer
2/sign on the dotted line for the FR
3/have fun driving home
4/smile lots
5/take pictures for everyone on here to see, we like pictures :)
6/ go for another drive :)

First time I've ever gone to the dealer to pick up a brand new car too.

Pictures - I can take pics, not sure how to post them though, lol. Luddite me. I even still listen to music using vinyl and valves :D

Nahhhh, def. not the way it should be..... no reason why the man has to drive a better car than the woman - especially when I earn a lot more than he does.

Anyway, collected the Leon at 7pm and called in at a friend's before coming home, so was too dark for any pics, but it is certainly bright - lol.

Feels nice and peppy - need to get used to the different driving position and get my seat right, felt really high up at first, but I've lowered the seat as far as it will go, got the steering wheel adjusted etc. Only done the drive back so far so just 38 miles on it now, so will be a few days before I am fully comfortable with it and could review - the viability for example, knowing exactly where you are in the road positioning etc - not fully got that yet. But first impressions are good and it will certainly be different to most of the other cars in the company car park. :D

Thx guys - so far, mucho enjoyment. I did the commute today (115 miles) and also met with a friend for dinner this evening, so I had to fill it up (only had under half a tank of fuel on delivery) tonight. Bit surprised with what the trip thing is saying my average economy has been so far (not great) but then I have been enjoying it a fair bit, so guess that's the trade off.

Anyway, when my mate and I came out of the Pizza Express, I did say 'my car is the one you will spot' and she started laughing when she realised in the sea of bland, the bright orange was mine. Anyway, she got in and commented on how great the seats are, I took her for a short drive (to where her 5-series was parked) and she likes. Says it suits my character and nice that (her words) I am someone that has the balls to be different in choosing such an outrageous colour. Lol.

It's the one thing I love about my Chrono Yellow FR. Still turns heads, not sure a black one does no matter how stealthy it is.

Will keep an eye out for a Lumina knocking about in Yorkshire. Which end of the fair county are you at?

mine has the spoiler and skirts and people still turn their heads to see what car it is , have had a few people pull up next to me and give me the nod of approval , worst thing is when you are at the lights you can feel someones stare looking at you and its the moment you turn to face them that you see them having a right old stare at your car , shame they only see the back of mine :p

Fortunately I'm used to admiring glances/stares ;)

Craig - will try to get some pics if the rain stops. Was dark when I collected and during daylight hours, I'm at work..... so weekend really before I've chance.

MorleyMackam - I'm not far from Selby but commute to Grimsby and often see a black Mk2 Leon FR with private plate that reads "Rick". It looks really nice, but black no good when you do the miles I do, and I wanted a 'stand out' colour. I love the orange.
