Quick question alot of people are lowering there Mk2 using just springs, I was always under the impression it ruined the ride ie dampers are in the wrong position and caused a bouncy ride. I'm looking to lower my Cupra but can't really justify coilovers as i'd rarely if not ever adjust them, any feedback would be appreciated. :D

My advice would be to avoid coilovers like the plague or anything that's going to 'slam' as it were.......the ride height as standard is fairly low, i.e. ground clearence.

I just fitted Eibachs, 25mm all round and it's low enough for me. As for bounce, the Leon FR and Cupra bounce anyway so no adverse affects there. I do have some before and after photo's so when i have some time i will post up.

Hope this helps..:)

I have 35mm Apex, yes the ride is hard but the standard Sport-up was already hard. Nothing really changed.
From what I can gather the H&R 40mm springs are considered the most 'comfortable' and lower the nicest according to tse germans :)

The two main chouices on here are the eibachs and the H&R springs. The H&R springs seems to give around 35-40mm where as the eibachs are around 25-30mm.

I originally has the Eibach pro-kit but upgraded to Eibach coilovers.

I echo the comments above about lowering too much, as there are two many things that keep scraping under my car [:@]

Igor - Do you have any pics from the side of your car, as I'm contemplating fitting the same Eibach's and interested to see how the height looks..

Cheers
