Lowering Springs - 2 Questions

1) Can we use lowering springs (35/40 or 35/20) on stock shocks?

2) FK High Tec lowering springs (35/40) cost 149 Euro. KW lowering springs (35/20) cost 180 Euro. I read some good reviews on the FK set. Any reason to choose KW over FK? in general, how are they different aside from the rear lowering value? spring rate? How is Eibach different from both?

Thank you.

Hi newbie, i have the H & R lowering springs on standard shocks but only got the 35 mm ones. In the real world i think it is more like 25mm drop but that is fine by me as any lower and those shocks will suffer over humps and bumps in the road. So imo get the shocks if going 35mm or lower. [B)]

Depending on mileage lowering springs are ok on standard shocks, however standard shocks arent made to work with lowering springs, with the smaller amount of movement in the shocks it can lead to increases in temp and possibly damage the shock. If the car has a bit of a high mileage i'd be tempted to do all full kit done, mainly due to old shocks being weaker and tired.
