Since i lowered my Ibiza on vmaxx coilovers ive had a rubbing noise at about 60mph onwards. If it let off the accelerator it goes away but comes back when i accelerate. Only things i found were the antiroll bar links rubbing on the wall of the engine bay (i ground these down so it cant be these). I also found rubbing marks on the wheel arch. Its identical on both sides. Im thinking its related to the wishbone bushes though as they are shot to bits and theres loads of movement in them. Could it be when i accelerate the wheels are moving forward on the bushes and causing them to catch on the arch? Im puzzled as i cant find anything else catching or rubbing :(

You need to cut away the arches where its rubbing

Most people have this problem

Look where the rubbing is , get a stanley knife and cut it away the plastic is only thin so it slices easily

Also there is a screw right at the top of the arch in the centre cut that away , it doesnt need to be there

I can see rubbing marks but the car isnt low enough to really be catching it!.. its really puzzling me. I have some Cupra bushes to fit which ill do tomorrow hopefully and ill see if the noise goes away..

Update../ Ive fitted my cupra bushes and also cut away the part of the arch i thought was catching and the noise is still there. When i was changing the bushes i noticed a line all the way around the drive shaft on the off side. this would explain the noise, especially when it goes away when i turn left..

Im using shorter drop links so i have no idea how its catching! My coilovers arent even all the way down on the front and i know people have went lower. Has anybody ever had this problem??

Cheers
